Oslo is the capital of Norway – Land of Trolls, fjords and wildlife! It is a city that combines modernity with history. It is a place where everyone will find something for themselves, from beautiful places to active leisure. If you do not like flying by plane or would like to go to Norway with your car, we have a proposal for a DFDS cruise on the route Denmark – Copenhagen to Norway – Oslo!
This route is operated daily. We leave at 16.30 and we are at about 10 a.m. The cruise time is about 18 hours. During the journey, we can enjoy all the amenities that await us on the ship, and there is a lot to choose from! We have restaurants, cafes, shops, a relaxation zone with swimming pools or attractions for children. In the evenings, we can go to a disco or to rest in one of the cabins overlooking the sea. After such a cruise we will certainly come out full, relaxed and rested ; -) and ready to explore Oslo. And in the capital of Norway there are many interesting attractions and places to see.
The first of them is Vigelandsparken – Park Vigelanda. Vigelandsparken is the world’s largest sculpture park created by a sculptor named Vigeland. In the park, we have over 200 sculptures that depict people in various poses and emotions. The main place in the park is a monolith consisting of over 120 intertwined figures. It is an ideal place for those who like long walks.
The Viking Ship Museum (Vikingskipshuset) is an obligatory place for all history lovers in Oslo. We can admire here very well preserved Viking boats from the 9th century. There are also many other things from the Viking era, thanks to which we can get to know better the life and history of these legendary warriors.
The building of the National Opera House is a gem of the city. The building of the opera resembles an iceberg. We can go to its roof, from where there is a beautiful view of the fjords and the panorama of Oslo.
Another place worth seeing while in Oslo is Holmenkollen. It is one of the most famous ski jumps in the world. Here we can see the jump itself, but also visit the Ski Museum. From the jump tower you can also enjoy the view of Oslo and the surrounding fjords.
If you have completed all the attractions in Oslo, and we will still have little to go to one of the islands near the capital of Norway. Ferries can go to islands such as Hovedøya, Gressholmen or Lindøya. Once you are there, take a walk through the surrounding forests, visit the ruins of monasteries or enjoy the unique views!
After a fruitful tour, rest and happiness we can return to Copenhagen by DFDS return ferry!
